This late September to early October is the pick season for every tourism places in Indonesia. During that time, the Moslems celebrate Idul Fitri, the day after 30 days fasting. Borobudur, the largest temple which was built at the 8th century is also visited by thousands visitors. The visitors came from all around Indonesia from Aceh to Papua. It was really crowded there.

Visiting Borobudur at that time was not comfy, I unable to deeply observing the relief or take good shot of the stupas. The crowd was really annoying me who seek quietness. However, it was all my fault, I came at the wrong time.

[ad#kotak336]
This temple was amazed me. I really want to know how the ancestor built it. It must be thousands of people who built it. To answer all the curiosity, I visited the museum next to the temple. The museum provides information and collection regarding with the temple. When it was built is still a question, no exact script tells the story, but several inscriptions may become the clue.

The other thing that interests me is groping ‘Kunto Bimo’. It is a Budha statue inside the stupa. People believe they can get what they wish if they can touch its foot. The ritual is we have to make a wish before groping it.

How to go to Borobudur

Borobudur is at Magelang Regency, Central Java. To go there from Yogyakarta or Semarang is simply take the bus to Magelang bus station. From the bus station take the bus to Borobudur. It takes an hour from Yogyakarta and three hours from Semarang.
