Musamus, Ants Castle in Indonesia

Making your Indonesia travel tours, you can find a unique place called Musamus at Papua. Musamus is a unique nature to be observed. It is ants ‘houses’ made from soil that are built for years, mounted from the ground and reach four to five meters high. Inside musamus, there are billion ants living and growing. It is possible it will be higher and higher every year.

Precisely, musamus’ location is at District Sota, Merauke, Papua, the eastest island of Indonesia. It is 75 kilometers from Merauke and 3 kilometers from the Indonesia – Papua New Guinea border. Since the road is good enough, we can travel from Merauke by bus, motorcycle or car.
To ease everyone during Indonesia travel tour, there are Indonesian airlines scheduled from Jakarta to Jayapura, Papua. The airlines are Batavia Ai, depart: 5.15 am., Garuda Indonesia Airways, depart: 09.20 pm and 10.55 pm.
