There are more than 40 effigies or Tau-Tau standing on the balcony chiseled on the cliff. The Tau-tau is showing prestige, social status and role in the society. It is not easy to place an effigy to the place. They should fulfill all the conditions such as cut 24 buffaloes. I was born and grew up in Toraja. Your blog don’t mention Kandeapi, one of Toraja’s Traditional Tongkonan that recognized as word heritage by The UNESCO. It’s seem that Kandeapi not popular for travelers. But for me, it’s made Kandeapi still natural until now.
But, I really enjoy this posting. Keep touch with Toraja, the land of kingdom of deaths
